The Genealogist has been well known for the various census indexes on the site but now they are being revealed as full transcripts and will all eventually have linked images. The main thrust has been on 1841 and 1851 with the main counties of London, Lancashire, Yorkshire plus Berkshire, Bucks, Essex, Herts, Middlesex and Surrey.
The site already has many other transcripts and indexes for 1861, 1871, 1891 and 1901.
The transcripts have Name Variant searching and under the advanced search feature also allow you to search on Occupation, County of Birth and Relationship.
Transcripts give the advantage of easy to read information which speeds up the search for frequently occurring names without the need to squint over dozens of badly written records.
The indexes and transcripts are changing over to a two reference system, one to the microfilm and the other to reference an S&N CD page.
The All inclusive subscription start at the equivalent of £4.66 a month and includes access to over £2,000 worth of data including the BMD Index, Census, Parish Records, Directories, Land Records and information going back to the 12th Century.
