The Reverend William Douglas, minister of St. James Parish in Virginia from 1750 - 1798 kept records of all the baptisms, marriages, and burials he performed. These records were first transcribed in 1928 but an index to the more than 20,000 names was never created. A Research Index to the Douglas Register provides a method by which names can quickly be identified. Researchers can use any of the editions of The Douglas Register currently in print as the page numbers are the same in each edition. Visit our web site to order: www.goochlandhistory.org
