Madison, Wisconsin (January 17, 2006) The Wisconsin State Genealogical Society will present a two day conference April 21 and 22, 2006 at Country Springs Hotel & Conference Center, 1501 North Point Ave. Stevens Point, WI.
Gene-A-Rama 2006 is intended for beginning as well as experienced genealogists. John Konvalinka, CGRS, CGL will be the featured speaker. These are his topics: Traditional Vs. Computer Based Genealogical Research: Not "Either/Or" but "Both", Keeping up with the Neighbors, Your Immigrant Ancestors- Find 'em in Cyberspace, Newest Electronic Frontier- Searchable Scanned Newspapers.
Jeffrey A. Bockman, Patricia Kenney Geyh, Richard L. Pifer, and Mary Jane Herber will speak on the following topics: Organizing Your Research, Research in Family History Library, Alternative Census Schedules, Research in Cemeteries, Irish Research, 20th Century Census, Alternatives to Birth Certificates, & Analyze What You Already Have.
Vendors are also scheduled so this is a good opportunity to pick up books, maps, CD's and archival materials.
