The Board for Certification of Genealogists welcomes the following certified genealogists.
Kathy Brady-Blake, CG, of Libertyville, Illinois. Brady-Blake is a professional genealogist. She received her MS degree from Loyola University and worked in the Human Resources field for 20 years. Brady-Blake has attended the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research, the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, the National Institute on Genealogical Research, and numerous national and local conferences. She is a member of several societies, and serves on the board of the Lake County (IL) Genealogical Society and the British Interest Group of Wisconsin and Illinois (BIGWILL). Brady-Blake was Local Publicity Chair for the National Genealogical Society’s 2006 Conference in the States. In addition to writing publicity pieces for the NGS 2006 conference, she has contributed local research guides to state and local genealogy newsletters.
Heather McLeland-Wieser, CG, of Tukwila, Washington. McLeland-Wieser is the Managing Librarian of Seattle Public Library’s History, Travel, Maps, and Genealogy Department. She earned an IB, history and literature; a BA, English; and a MLS. She has over 25 years experience as a genealogist. McLeland-Wieser has attended the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy and the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research. She is former volunteer coordinator for the Seattle Genealogical Society and a founding member and past co-chair of the Puget Sound Chapter of APG. McLeland-Wieser teaches genealogy classes at the library, and recently taught an online seminar for Washington librarians, with a focus on working with genealogy researchers. She has presented lectures at local and regional societies.
