The Board for Certification of Genealogists welcomes the latest to pass Certified Genealogist evaluation.
Daniela Moneta, CG, of Phoenix, Arizona. Moneta, a college librarian, earned a MLIS degree. She formerly worked as a genealogy librarian and a book and paper conservator. Moneta teaches family history at Arizona State University and is a partner in the business Genealogy One-on-One. She published a book on Charles Lummis, the founder of the Southwest Museum, and has written several articles on paper and photo conservation.
Peggy Ryskamp, CG, of Lindon, Utah. Ryskamp, a researcher for Hispanic Family History Research, earned a BA in English from Brigham Young University. She is the co-author of Finding Your Mexican Ancestors: A Beginner's Guide (Ancestry Publishing, 2007).
Teri Downs Tillman, CG, of Natchez, Mississippi. Tillman is a professional genealogist. She received a BA from Vanderbilt University, and a MA in German from Washington University.
Tillman has attended courses at the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR) and through the National Genealogical Society and MyFamily.com. She was the first recipient of the Walter Lee Sheppard prize, given to select top-performing students in the Advanced Methodology track at IGHR. Named for the late Walter Lee Sheppard CG, FASG, FNGS, the prize was established by David McDonald, CG, to honor Lee's commitment to scholastic integrity in the genealogical realm. The Sheppard Prize covers the cost of the final certification portfolio application fee and is paid directly to BCG in the prizewinner's name.
Tillman is working on a comprehensive history of the once vibrant Jewish community in Natchez, which now contains only six members. Her research interests include Southwest Mississippi, Alsace, the Palatinate, and nineteenth century Jewish genealogy.
