National Lecturer to Discuss DNA Testing and Genealogy Research

KNOXVILLE, TN - The modern science of DNA is taking genealogy research from the library to the laboratory and helping researchers in their quest to discover the family history.  But what exactly can DNA testing prove or disprove?  What are the research?

Nationally known lecturer Dr. George K. Schweitzer will discuss the role of DNA testing in genealogy research on April 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the East Tennessee History Center, 601 S. Gay Street, Knoxville (across from the Tennessee Theatre).  The lecture is sponsored by the East Tennessee Historical Society and the McClung Historical Collection and is free and open to the public.  A one-hour lunch break is scheduled.  For more information, call 865-215-8824.
